Hello, I’m Shienny
(pronounced: sh + jenny)
I am a systems-minded designer and strategist with a background in architecture, UX, and business innovation. I specialize in helping organizations solve complex problems through human-centered design, thoughtful product strategy, and storytelling that resonates.
Why I design
I believe design is more than just how something looks — it’s a powerful tool to clarify ideas, make sense of complexity, and move people toward meaningful action. Whether I’m building a product, shaping a brand, or simplifying data into something people can act on, my goal is always the same: to be useful and move ideas toward impact.
How I work
My process is holistic. I look at the big picture — the system, the users, the goals — and work toward impact, not just output. I’m goal-oriented, not task-oriented, which helps me adapt quickly and focus on what really matters.
Idea to Impact
Most of my work has been with startups, small companies, and mission-driven teams — the kinds without a big design department or endless resources. I’ve stepped in as the strategist, designer, and builder all in one, helping organizations turn rough ideas into reality.
As the founder of a food startup, I learned what it takes to build from zero — everything from product development and storytelling to operations and brand identity. I’ve helped businesses rethink data systems for better decision-making, design tools for store teams on the ground, and prototype digital platforms that respond to real needs.
I also contribute to civic tech through Hack for LA’s Food Oasis LA , where I led a team of volunteer data scientists to transform civic data into an interactive dashboard advocating for food access in Los Angeles. I believe design can — and should — be in service of the public good.
If you're into building things that make a difference — let's talk. I’d love to help make it real.
